Rippe Keane Cares

For two consecutive years, Rippe Keane Marketing donated backpacks filled with school supplies to deserving students at Savanna Oaks Middle School in Fitchburg. Rippe Keane staff members collected donations from their clients as part of their "Backpack Give Back" program at their summer golf outings. Rippe Keane Cares, created by owners Scott Rippe and Lucy Keane to rally their staff around causes on which they shared a common concern in the community, matched the contributions. Together with 96.3 Star Country, who provided the backpacks, Rippe Keane was able to provide the entire list of school supplies for 45 middle schoolers.

Rippe Keane Marketing made a 10-year commitment to give $2,500 annually to Edgewood College, with a portion being dispersed each year and the rest going into an endowment fund that will eventually fund an annual scholarship in perpetuity. Lucy Keane, an Edgewood graduate, has always been interested in keeping an active affiliation with the college. "We're basically trying to help out a person who may not otherwise be able to experience the quality education of Edgewood," said Scott Rippe. The scholarship has been earmarked for a marketing or communications student, with the money benefitting students demonstrating the greatest financial need.

In keeping with their unique approach, Rippe Keane Marketing's holiday greeting enabled their clients to spread goodwill and cheer to those most in need. Heifer International, a global, non-profit organization, strives to end hunger and poverty through self-reliance and sustainability by providing a family with a gift of an animal. In return, the family agrees to pass on one or more of their animal's offspring to another family in need, thus embodying Rippe Keane's belief in "pure cause and effect." After a photo shoot with the staff at a local farm, Rippe Keane created a customized holiday card for their clients. The card directed the recipients to a website featuring a barnyard full of animals, any of which the client could choose to have donated to Heifer International in their name. This allowed each person in the Rippe Keane family to share their wealth with several other families across the world.

In late fall, after months of dust and noise from remodeling their office, Rippe Keane Marketing threw a house warming party in their new digs. On behalf of all the friends who came to the celebration, Rippe Keane donated turkeys and all the necessary fixings to the Atwood Community Foundation, ensuring that those less fortunate could enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner. In the spirit of "pure cause and effect," Rippe Keane staff volunteered their time at a local food pantry during the week leading up to the dinner, handing out baskets of food to those in need.
